Vernon ROCKS members attended the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) conference in Atlanta, GA this past July. Coalition members had the opportunity to increase their knowledge about prevention and potential strategies to use in Vernon. Coalition members said attending the conference helped them to understand how they fit into prevention, increasing their comfort to give ideas and input for future strategies. Additionally, the conference was a great team-building event for coalition members to get to know each other on a more personal basis. CADCA really helped increase the capacity of the Vernon ROCKS Coalition!

This a time to educate ourselves and others about the potential risks and effects of alcohol consumption along with promoting healthy choices for a safer environment. For example using terms like Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) recognizes that it is medical condition with evidence based treatments available.
